About

The Chapel is a boutique event venue located in Lisbon, operating under the esteemed Convento do Beato.

It is a historic monument defined by layers of transformation. Once a 16th-century sacred church, it later served as a hub for Portuguese industry as an ice factory and a barley processing plant.

The challenge

The core challenge was to create a brand that felt independent yet clearly connected to its "big brother," Convento do Beato. The venue needed to speak to a modern audience without losing its historic soul.

Our process involved a deep strategic dive where we explored four distinct creative paths. These directions ranged from the building's industrial "factory" era to its heritage as a sacred space. The client chose a strategy of architectural continuity. This required us to carefully extract motifs from the physical space, to create a sophisticated identity that felt both safe and timeless. We had to prove that a venue with such a raw, industrial past could meet the premium service standards of a world-class events center.

Deliveries

We delivered a visual system that mirrors the verticality and stability of the venue’s architecture.

The core symbol, the arch, was inspired by the main entrance and the interior side chapels. For the logotype, we selected a timeless Serif typeface to ensure historical vibes, elegance and prestige. The palette, featuring elegant bordó and terracotta, was drawn directly from the building’s aged bricks and ceiling patina. Deliverables included a complete brand guideline, business assets, social media systems, presentation template and extensive printed brochure.
